Is Your Diet Getting In The Way Of Your Weight Loss Progress?
Could dieting actually be getting in the way of your weight loss?
I get it - I know I really wanted someone to tell me exactly what to do so that I could just lose the weight.
I thought if I could just follow a plan I would see results...
Kinda like some kind of guarantee that if I work hard enough and follow the rules perfectly I’ll reach my goals...
But time after time, try after try, that never happened...at least not for the long term.
And when it didn’t work guess who I blamed...ME!
*I* just wasn’t strong enough…
*I* just didn’t try hard enough…
*I* just need more willpower…
Never once did I consider that the diet could be the problem, or that it wasn’t realistic for me, or even if it was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
Another problem is it sets you up for all kinds of diet trauma that you have to overcome. Each of those diets I tried came with their own list of “rules” and ideas that can get stuck in your head as weight loss facts... it can be hard to undo those after years of being inundated with that kind of advice.
When in reality most of those rules were just made up by someone else- they may have had their reasons behind the rules, it may have been what worked for them but that doesn’t mean it’s right for you.
The thing is when someone has success with something you think you should have the same success and when you don’t it’s all too easy to blame yourself because obviously it worked for that other person (people) so “I must’ve done something wrong - it must be something wrong with me...”
The fact is, there is no one diet out there that will work for everyone- we all have so many different variables in our lives from our lifestyles, health status, metabolism, hormones, genetics etc...etc...etc...
If you want to lose weight you’ve gotta find a way to make it work for YOU. The trouble with that is it takes experimentation - trial and error - and we don’t want to do that ‘cuz we think it’ll take too long.
But what takes too long is being stuck in that lose-gain-lose cycle that often comes along with chronic dieting.
For sustainable weight loss we need to break that cycle.
That’s why I created the Weight Loss Kickstart Guide. It will help you get started creating your own weight loss plan that fits your life ...no more bending your life to fit someone else’s diet rules - you can grab the guide here.
