How to be less hungry...

In a previous post I talked about the food that we eat being about more than just calories, but also providing important building blocks and information that your body needs for you to look and feel your best.

One of the ways to stop being so hungry is to make sure your body gets all those nutrients it needs to keep all systems firing.

Hunger doesn’t come from our stomach – even though that’s often where we tend to feel it – it actually comes from our cells – when they need something they put out the call for your brain to send out those hunger signals to try to get you to eat so they can get whatever it is they need.

The more crap we eat – empty calories – the more calories we're likely to consume because we're eating but still not giving your cells what they actually need so we get hungry more often

2 things that are really helpful when it comes to being less hungry are:

Focus on eating real whole foods – foods that give your cells all they need to be able to help you get through the day

The other is to eat more protein – particularly animal protein – which is chalk full of important minerals and amino acids – two of the things your cells are often asking for

Protein is also incredibly satiating.  It takes longer to break down and digest so it helps to keep you satisfied longer – which means less hunger!
