Are Your Weight Loss Expectations Realistic?

The diet industry has really f@^&ed us up - setting us up for all kinds of unrealistic expectations when it comes to weight loss.

You can't stand in line at the grocery store, watch tv, or scroll through social media without being inundated with all kinds of promises like:

"Lose 15lbs in 2 weeks!"

"This is how I lost 30 pounds last month..."

"This simple hack will help you lose weight fast"

They've sold us the idea that weight loss should be quick...

That weight loss should be easy...

That this pill, powder, or shake (or whatever they're selling) is the answer to reaching your weight loss goals...

So when actual real life weight loss doesn't work that way - we think we're doing something wrong.

That we're not trying hard enough.

That it's "not working".

In reality weight loss never happens on a specific timeline -  and it NEVER happens as fast as we'd like it to -  but that doesn't mean it's not working...that you're not still making progress or that you're doing something wrong.

Our metabolisms are complicated, complex, amazing, and yes sometimes incredibly frustrating things.  They have their own process and timelines...

Sometimes healing needs to take place. Sometimes it just takes time for it to catch on to what you're trying to do - but trying to rush it or force it doesn't work and usually just ends up backfiring on you.

Trust the process and don't let unrealistic expectations throw you off track.
