5 Steps to Successful Weight Loss with Ke

No need to overcomplicate it start with these 5 simple steps.

1.  Eat real food!  There are a ton of keto treats out there on the market now and while those are great for an occasional treat, if weight loss is your goal it's best to not make them an everyday thing.  To truly make a habit change you don’t want to trade a bad choice for a slightly less bad one.

2.  Get your protein!  Seriously, I can't emphasize this enough.  We women tend to drastically undereat protein and it's really the most important of the macros, not just for overall health, but also for weight loss.  Protein will help you stay fuller longer and when you’re truly satisfied on a cellular level you will be less hungry, have less cravings, and you won't have to spend your day thinking about food!

3. Make sure you get your electrolytes.  This is another one I just can’t say enough - it's really so important to keep your electrolyte up to keep your energy up, to help you to feel your best and it can even help fight cravings.

4.  Don’t overdo the dairy.  Dairy is super yummy but that makes it very easy to overdo it - especially with keto when we kinda have the license to eat it all.  But for some people it can put a real crimp in weight loss progress.

5. Have realistic expectations.  Yes, keto is great for weight loss (among many many other things), but it's still not a magic bullet.  Weight loss takes time.  You most likely didn’t gain it overnight, and you’re not going to lose it that way either.

There's also the added bit with keto that if you were eating a carb-heavy diet pre-keto it's likely your body was used to relying primarily on glucose for fuel, it can take some time for your body to make that adjustment back to relying on fat.  So give yourself some grace - you are doing good things for your body and the weight loss will come!
