This is one of the best, easiest, simplest, cheapest, yet one of the most underutilized and under-rated forms of exercise.

You can do it most anywhere and best yet it doesn’t cost a thing!  No equipment, no membership, nothing special to buy - not even the shoes if you don’t want to, because the beauty is we were actually designed to do it barefoot!

It doesn’t even have to be a power walk or a long-distance walk.  Just a leisurely stroll can do you a world of good.

Let's look at just some of the benefits of walking:

  • It's easy on the body.

  • Utilizes fat stores without overtraining - walking doesn’t typically dip into glucose stores so your primarily using fat for fuel.

  • It's good for your brain - it can help improve memory and cognitive function.

  • It can help with cravings.

  • Improve mood.

  • Helps to reduce stress.

  • Improves immune function.

  • Low risk for injury - just be sure to watch where you’re going and don’t keep your nose buried in your phone!

  • Great for active recovery.

  • Helps to improve metabolic health.

  • Can help improve insulin sensitivity.

  • It can help improve your sleep.

  • Its time not spent being sedentary!! ;)

Have I convinced you yet??  If you aren’t already including walking in your day, I hope you will try to add more in.  It really can be so beneficial in so many ways; and it doesn’t take much to make a big difference!

Get out there and WALK!.  Just a walk around the block, park farther from the entrance.  Take the stairs instead of the elevator. There are so many ways to just add more steps in each day without it being overwhelming!
