8 Reasons you might be struggling to lose weight

  1. Too many packaged products. Even if a product is labeled low carb or keto these products while convenient can also be problematic when it comes to weight loss. They are often calorie dense, and easy to overeat.  Always check the ingredients no matter what the front label might claim.

  2. You don’t have a plan.  It's really easy to try to DIY-it from all the info you collect on the internet.  But this often leads to you bouncing from one thing to the next without ever really giving any one thing a chance to work.  Having a plan or some structure can really help you find your footing and stay on track.

  3. Relying on willpower and motivation.  Willpower and motivation are great when they’re high, but both tend to fade over time - then what?  That's usually the point where it feels hard to stay on track and you may even want to give up.   If you’ve got a whacked out metabolism this also leaves you trying to fight your own physiology - which rarely ever works.

  4. Focusing only on calories.  We tend to jump to restricting calories when we want to lose weight - often too much - when you don’t give your body the energy and nutrients it needs to run properly, often slowing your metabolism which can be counterproductive for weight loss.

  5. Not addressing the root cause.  Calories matter but often when we gain weight it's because there is some degree of underlying metabolic/hormonal dysfunction.  If you don’t address that first you may be making weight loss a lot harder than it needs to be.

  6. The comparison Trap.  Comparing your progress to someone else’s.  It's easy to feel like you’re not doing something right when you see others having more or faster weight loss than you.  It's important to remember that we all have different starting points, genetics, health issues, hormones, activity levels etc.. Keep your eyes on your own paper and don’t let the comparison trap derail your efforts.

  7. Not prioritizing sleep and stress management.  These are both areas that most “diets” tend to ignore, but they can play a HUGE role in weight loss.  You can have everything else dialed in but if you aren’t sleeping or stress is out of control you won’t see your best results.

  8. No accountability or support. Trying to make diet and lifestyle changes can be hard and a bit overwhelming - having accountability and support can help you stay on track when life gets messy.

Speaking of accountability and support, if you think having a little additional community support would be helpful for you we’d love to have you join us in our brand new facebook community https://www.facebook.com/groups/thelowcarbsolution
