Contrary to what we’re usually told, weight loss is not just all about the calories.
For a lot of us (myself included) only focusing on calories just leads to hunger, cravings, frustration, and disappointment.
Weight loss isn’t just about calories — our hormones play a really big role as well and we don’t talk about that enough!
Calories matter, to a point (but not in the way we usually think they do), but it’s what makes up those calories and the effect they have on our hormones that really matter. Its those hormones that dictate what happens to the calories we eat.
When we’re able to work with those hormones, rather than against them, weight loss isn’t such a struggle.
I, personally, don’t believe that we are meant to be counting, measuring, tracking everything we eat and then having to go “kill it” in the gym every day. That's just not how our bodies were meant to work! And who has time to do all of that anyway?
